Cookie & storage policy
How essential sign-in storage works, and how you control optional analytics.

1. Essential account cookies
swis_session is an HttpOnly sign-in cookie; swis_csrf protects requests against forgery. Both last up to 30 days, with shorter validity when access is revoked or cookies are cleared. Production cookies use Secure and SameSite protections. Blocking essential cookies can prevent sign-in and account changes.
2. Temporary Google sign-in cookies
oauth_state, oauth_nonce and oauth_code_verifier protect the Google redirect flow. oauth_return_to remembers the intended local destination, google_link_intent identifies an account-linking request, and oauth_legal_acceptance carries a signed, time-limited confirmation of the terms you accepted. These cookies last up to 10 minutes and are cleared when the callback completes or fails. pending_google_access_request lasts up to 30 minutes so an unapproved Google user can view their request status.
3. Optional analytics and your choice
swis_analytics_preference stores Allow analytics or Essential only in this browser’s local storage until you change the choice or clear browser storage. Optional Vercel Analytics is loaded only after Allow analytics. It is separate from accepting the terms, creating an account or granting location permission. Use Privacy choices in the footer to change it. A preference is specific to this browser; it is not synchronized across devices.
4. External providers and browser controls
Identity, maps and infrastructure providers may process network identifiers and apply their own storage practices when you use their services. See the privacy policy and linked provider policies for details. Use browser settings to inspect, remove or block cookies and storage; doing so can sign you out and reset your analytics preference. Essential security/network logs may still exist after you decline optional analytics.
